Quite frankly, Boston has about 200 bars just like this one - a big, loud, friendly Irish pub where you can get a whole lot of beer and a few bites of food. Oftentimes, the only characteristic that distinguishes one from the other is location and clientèle. A hint at the location - in the shadow of Boston City Hall - can give a pretty decent idea of the crowd. So if slightly upscale lawyer and cop types getting beery and friendly floats your boat, then head on down. The vibe becomes more clubby and dancy as the night wears on.
